Strobing for Bridal Makeup: Should You Incorporate It?

New makeup techniques and trends come out every season – but that doesn’t mean you have to wear them all. In the end, we’re all different – so all of these trends should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Take strobing for example. Right now, it’s a huge trend in the makeup world – but should you incorporate it into your Pittsburgh bridal look? We’ve gathered some tips to help you decide, so read on and find out more.

  • Strobing is very much similar to contouring. However, contouring focuses on creating more shades, while strobing is focused on attracting light on different key areas of the face. In general, the looks created with strobing are more natural and radiant, while the looks created with contouring are deeper, more dramatic, and frequently more suitable for a nighttime makeup.

  • This new and trending technique is very much suitable for brides, as it helps them illuminate the face and it draws attention to their natural beauty. Aside from the natural glow you will inevitably have as you walk down the aisle, strobing will add a dash of daytime glamor and elegance to your entire look.

  • However, keep in mind that strobing may not be for everyone. For instance, if your skin is usually very oily, you might want to skip this trend. If you do want to show it off on your wedding day, do make sure you use a matifying primer, foundation, and powder, to create a natural appearance. Also, remember to pack your powder in your SOS kit and to only apply it in the oily areas, not on top of the highlighter (this would most likely lead to cakey results).
